Admission Policies

Admission Requirements

Male or female students who enroll at ATI should possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Prospective students are invited to visit the Institute and discuss their needs, goals, and objectives with Student Services. Prospective applicants are also encouraged to spend at least one full day at the institute and spend time in the classroom and lab to enable them to better understand the course requirements before finalizing their applicant and/or enrollment. Each applicant will be required to show a High Institute Diploma or GED before being accepted to the program.

A high school diploma or GED is necessary for the student to benefit from the educational training and provides a definite advantage in job placement.

Applicants without a high school diploma or GED and who are beyond the age of compulsory school attendance in California (18 years old) but who can demonstrate the ability-to-benefit from instruction may be given a written examination (Wonderlic - verbal aptitude) and/or a career aptitude inventory test and prior admission. The prospective applicant must also successfully complete a personal interview with the instructor and/or the chief executive officer. If administered, the acceptable Wonderlic score should be in the 10.0 grade level indicator.

The prospective candidate must be emotionally stable and physically capable of completing repairs and free from sight conditions that hinder the ability to work with wiring. The final determination for admission is based on all of the above.
